Description
Acne or Acne vulgaris commonly known as 'Pimples', is a skin condition caused by over activity of the glands that secrete oily substances on to the skin mostly on face, chest and shoulders. Around three-quarters of all teenagers and young adults suffer from acne. However, men and women in their 30's and 40's can also suffer. Acne is characterised by the presence of black-heads, pustules with a depressed centre, whiteheads (comedones), inflamed spots (papules) and increased production of sebum (an oily secretion made by the skin) which leads to clogged pores.
